How to mod luxor evolved mods#
Isn't it in the communities best interest to keep updating forgotten mods so that new players can enjoy them?
How to mod luxor evolved full#
While my preference is "do what you want, but I may not support your changes", it's fully understandable if an author wants to retain full control. It's easier to match this than to work out a community-based sharing method agreed upon by everyone.Ĭreating high quality mods and assets is a tremendous amount of work. The community has taken that to heart in terms of a mod and unique assets being "owned" by the author. It's less about the community as a whole and more the EULA from ZeniMax. It made me wonder why the community doesn't allow mods that have been taken down to still be distributed. I'm asking why are mods that have been abandoned by their authors not allowed to be adopted by a community member and updated without the authors permission in the event the author is unable to give permission and has not explicitly expressed their wish for their mod to be abandoned. I'm not asking why don't people steal a modders work and upload it as their own. I made the mistake of downloading Skyrim mods instead of SSE mods too often, and then seeing the Luxor retirement threads popping up just made me feel a lil salty.Įdit: Some people are getting confused with my intention with this question. I'm left wondering why aren't mods allowed to be distributed if a mod author has decided to retire, and why is the modifcation of old mods to SSE frowned upon when done without permission when it would only benefit the community? I also noticed in general that people will post in the comments of Oldrim mods on Nexus asking for permission to port said mod to SSE only to be left unanswered. I'm not trying to talk about Luxor specifically, I was just using him as an example. To note, I saw allegations that Luxor stole assets for his mods. For example, I don't understand why those who have Luxor's mods can't openly say "oh anyone who wants his mods, I have them, here's a a link." Takes up 150GB of storage, but #worth." It made me wonder why the community doesn't allow mods that have been taken down to still be distributed. I saw people talking about a person named Luxor and how he removed his SSE mods and I noticed that everyone was saying something like "geez, I should've saved them when I had the chance" or "good thing I keep all my mods. I feel like I have to have a disclaimer here: I'm not trying to test the mods of this forum or challenge the rules of the community, I'm asking a legitimate question.
